Adam Mandarano wins 2026 Burwood Art Prize

Known for bold, abstract colours, and intricate textures, Sydney-based artist Adam Mandarano has won the $20,000 acquisitive prize for self-portrait Painting in the Park. A founding member of Studio A, which supports artists with intellectual disability, the winning work depicts Mandarano in his Studio A outfit – “the uniform I wear every time I paint with my shirt, boots, and yellow backwards cap.”

Tresor Murace was Highly Commended for Nonna’s Cabinet and Emmalee Ford won the $2,500 Local Prize for Retextured adventures in Chinatown.
