Brassaï: Secret Paris

Bringing together more than 150 vintage prints, Secret Paris – the most comprehensive survey of the work of the eminent Hungarian-born, French photographer Brassaï yet seen in Australia – takes viewers into the intimate world of 1930s Paris.

Produced in collaboration with the artist’s estate, iconic images of the city and its people by night together with the artist’s friendship with Picasso and other leading figures of the Parisian avant-garde are considered – including his experiments with Surrealism and his hallmark photographs of graffiti.
