Bringing together sculpture and assemblages, paintings, prints, and photographs that map connections across architecture, classicism, and the human form, this display – in celebration of the acquisition of monumental collage Blueprint for a Temple (II), 1980, by American photographer Francesca Woodman – invites audiences to witness an exploration of the relationship between architecture and body across cultures and millennia.
Several sculptures explore bodies within an architectural setting and the ways in which angels, caryatids, and other figures reoccur in art and architecture.
