Adam Pyett: Still life painting

Native Australian flora in transparent vessels painted in vibrant hues on understated or decorated surfaces, arrangements in recycled water bottles and café glasses on dark dramatic settings form part of artist Adam Pyett’s ten-year survey exhibition. Paintings of Fosters beer and Coca-Cola cans, rock band t-shirts for the Ramones, Motörhead and AC/DC arranged on milk crates add a contemporary flavour, while the ‘transience of life’ is interpreted in earlier works detailing skulls, nestled amongst banksia and protea cuttings.
