Michelle Seelig: Rainbows In The Roof

A shift from darkness into light, a sense of hope, the ease of anxiety and the return of creative flow are symbolised by rainbows and the natural world in Michelle Seelig’s work. Her drawing uses these simple but powerful motifs in many guises to take life’s ordinary moments and enrich them with meaning. Her large black and white compositions are built by meditatively rubbing charcoal into the paper to create rich tones and depth to her organic shapes.
