Archie 100 celebrates a century of Australia’s oldest portrait award, the Archibald Prize, reflecting upon the changing face of our nation, how artistic styles and approaches to portraiture have changed over time, and how the Archibald mirrors our society. The Art Gallery of New South Wales touring exhibition is arranged thematically and delves into the controversies and the commonplace, the triumphant and the thwarted.
Archie 100 includes portraits by a wide range of artists from across Australia and New Zealand and from every decade of the prize.
