Eliott June O’Dowd: Guide to Surreal Urbias

Working on the lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples, Eliott June O’Dowd’s multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture combined with textile crafts, painting, and occasional printmaking – exploring themes of gender, joy, and life.

Investigating a relationship between the imagined and the real, and inspired by plants, Guide to Surreal Urbias reinterprets colours and forms observed in the world; the collection is an ode to growth, memory, and observation – driven by process and expressed through the abstract, the contrasting, and the loosely figurative.
