Viewers are welcome aboard a dark visual and auditory journey reflecting on the mutiny, murder and feats of survival surrounding the infamous Batavia shipwreck of 1629. The history is re-told with contemporary works combining art and science from creatives who have worked with archival material and skeletal remains. The new perspective is delivered by artists Paul Bourke, Robert Cleworth, Daniel Franklin, Jeremy Green, Alistair Paterson, Paul Uhlmann, Corioli Souter, Jan Andriesse and filmmaker Maarten de Kroon.
