Clara Adolphs: Thursday

A figurative painter, Adolphs’ work captures familiar moments and feelings of unknown characters. Using old photographs as the source of her imagery she re-incarnates isolated details of people of the past and explores the notion that moments are fleeting. Memories and photographs will linger, but they represent just a speck of time.

Adolphs continues her investigation into the human condition in her forthcoming exhibition ‘Thursday’, which references the every day happenings on any given day, the situations and events which compose the essentials of human existence. This exhibition includes larger narrative paintings, smaller portraits and the introduction of sculptures.
