Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) is commemorating two decades of collecting with an exhibition showcasing the breadth of the Canberra region’s art. Staged from 24 March to 17 June, the presentation features historical and contemporary works by more than 100 established and emerging artists including Vivienne Binns, Imants Tillers, Janet Dawson, George Gittoes, Janenne Eaton, eX de Medici and Peter Maloney. CMAG’s collection is managed by the gallery on behalf of the Australian Government, and features a diverse spread of painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, drawing, digital art, ceramics, glass, textiles, metalware and jewellery. A large-scale sculptural component is on display at Gallery 4 on Civic Square, and can be viewed 24 hours a day throughout the exhibition.
