Lorne Sculpture Biennale | major works and new commissions from 41 artists

The Lorne Sculpture Biennale (LSB) celebrates contemporary Australian and international sculpture with an outdoor festival transforming the foreshore of the Victorian Otway region. From 17 March to 2 April, the 2018 LSB explores the theme ‘Landfall’, presenting major works and new commissions from 41 artists in response to pressing global issues of nature and endangerment.

Highlights include Nicole Voevodin-Cash’s inflatable tree museum, and performances by Jill Orr and Anton Hasell that encourage audience interaction. ‘Sculpturescape’ reimagines the landscape as seen in Ryan Kennedy’s installation of 10,000 glass bottles in which visitors can write and insert messages. ‘Major Projects’ include Shirin Abedinerad’s curved wall of mirrored TV sets, which capture the ocean and viewer – reflective of the biennial theme and the intersection of nature, humanity and art.
