By arranging objects, a particular aesthetic value emerges, and a conversation is initiated revealing new connections, comparisons and ways of seeing and appreciating.
‘Composing Objects’ explores our natural creative desire to position three-dimensional objects. Derived from the Bendigo Art Gallery’s vast collection, the exhibition showcases a selection of art pieces – still life paintings, mid-century pottery and contemporary ceramics and glassware – in various combinations; from shape, colour and medium to decorative style, functional quality and symbolic potency.
