Cream: Four decades of Australian Art

This exhibition chronicles the development of modernism in Australia from 1940 to 1980 and tells one of the greatest art stories of regional Australia. Revealing the hidden culture of the Beef capital, this exhibition presents the cream of Rockhampton Art Gallery’s collection and includes works by Arthur Boyd, Charles Blackman, Sidney Nolan, Russell Drysdale, John Brack, Sam Fullbrook, Margaret Olley, Fred Williams, James Gleeson, Lloyd Rees and more.

The pick of this collection of more than 400 works is now being shared in a national touring exhibition. ‘Cream: Four Decades of Australian Art’ lifts the lid on one of the greatest art stories of regional Australia that until now has remained untold.
