Cressida Campbell blurs the boundary between art and life as she translates the everyday into the extraordinary in single-edition woodblock paintings and prints.
This survey exhibition, which includes childhood drawings and studio material, presents the depth and virtuosity of Campbell’s practice through more than 100 works extending from intimate interior views to panoramic coastal landscapes. Through her views of a working harbour or burnt bushland, an arrangement of nasturtiums or lotuses and watering cans, or a plate of ripening persimmons and kitchen scraps, the artist celebrates the transitory moments of life.
