INUNTJI PUTITJA | Desert Colours

Ernabella, also known as Pukatja, is characterised by vast areas of red sand, dramatic skies, and bursts of vibrant vegetation. INUNTJI PUTITJA, meaning “colours of the desert” in Pitjantjatjara language, brings together a selection of paintings and ceramics that offer a glimpse into the world of the Anangu and reflect the cultural and artistic practice of the Ernabella artists whose art centre is situated on the elevated desert country of the Musgrave Ranges in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of South Australia.
