David Griggs: Between Nature and Sin

‘Between Nature and Sin’ features large-scale paintings, photography and the premiere screening of the feature-length film, ‘Cowboy Country’. David Griggs goes below the surface of mainstream existence to reveal the darker side of life; compelling narratives of gang and street culture to crime, drugs and prostitution in his adopted homeland of Manila. Influenced by personal experiences growing up in Western Sydney, political imagery, media, subcultures and their environments, Griggs puts social structures and underground societies in Southeast Asia on the Australian stage.
