‘Desert Mob’ brings together a collection of 250 artworks from established and emerging artists from 31 Desart-member art centres across the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia. An annual exhibition in its 26th year, it continues to be a significant and highly anticipated Indigenous arts and cultural event on the calendar for Alice Springs – a gathering of remote area practices, communities and the arts audience.
The showcase is an opportunity to view traditional works, as well as a platform for innovation, experimentation, and to observe new developments in contemporary Aboriginal art within the region, and further afield. Paintings, sculpture, weaving, wood carving, ceramics, prints, photography and works on paper will all be on view.
