Edwin Harris-Faull: Monsters

Kaurna Country-based artist Edwin Harris-Faull creates fantastical ceramic forms that draw on an educational background in horticulture and love of the natural world.

During a residency in the World Heritage rainforests of southwest Tasmania, the artist – under the guidance of Mark Valenzuela – sought out ancient Huon pines. Living witnesses to epochs of history, Harris-Faull uses Huon pines as reflection and response. Part plant, part creature, part memory – the artist’s hybridised forms reflect his belief in the sentience of all living things.
