Everyday Madonna

A group of female artists challenge common representations of motherhood while questioning societal expectations and cultural traditions in ‘Everyday Madonna’. Looking at imagery such as the iconic Madonna & Child, the artists transcend notions of motherly quietude with depictions of their own maternal role as being one of strength and resilience; of warriors who protect and guide their children through life, in preparation for the world they will inherit.
