Presented by the Simon Lee Foundation Institute of Contemporary Asian Art, Farah Al Qasimi’s Star Machine explores the Abu Dhabi-born artist’s oeuvre, one that employs photography as a relational tool of intimate inquiry into how spaces and subjectivities inflect each other. In a kaleidoscopic colour palette rich in saturation, the artist reflects on themes relating to identity and self-image, documenting and critiquing through social commentary.
Star Machine brings together over twenty works, including some of Al Qasimi’s most well-known photographs and the recent video General Behaviour, 2020.
