Hayley Millar-Baker is influenced and informed by her Koorie heritage and her own experience within a contemporary urban culture. In this photographic series she explores her deep connection to Country and searches the Australian bush for answers to personal ideas such as growth, clarity, satisfaction and cleansing. The artist examines narratives of Australian history through a postcolonial lens combining elements of Dreamtime with alternative views of history – re-imaginings of her story and perspective.
