I Spy: windows and doors in art

Curated by Meryl Ryan and Stephen Goddard, ‘I Spy’ brings together a group of works by contemporary artists who have used windows and doors as significant visual or conceptual icons.

At times, they have a quality of the otherworldly as portals to the imaginative realm. At others, they are more earthbound, culturally reflective, or voyeuristic. In an imagining of what might be on the other side, or the stark reality of what is observed, ‘I Spy’ acknowledges the compelling nature of the thresholds we continually encounter.
