John Honeywill

John Honeywill’s new series of still life paintings meander from orchid bloom to liquorice-all-sort and include unique objects the artist observed while undertaking a residency at the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre. His oil on linen paintings depict native flowers and fruits accompanied by domestic vessels (a glass bottle seemingly repurposed for a cutting or quaint jug with a corner worn from touch) paired on a stark background awash with daylight, creating a special air of grace and familiarity.
