JP Willis: Utopia

For over a decade, JP Willis has explored the dichotomy between beauty and deadliness through his depictions of pastoral splendour alongside human existence.

Using a pixel palette and digitised brush, Willis presents Arcadian landscapes skirting on the edge of the unnerving as military fighter jets or drones discreetly enter perspective. Though not recognised as a direct threat, their appearance is blurred and unfocused. The spectator is left to ponder… what is ‘really’ happening here?
