Katrin Koenning: Swell

Katrin Koenning’s new body of work highlights the environmental reality of human-induced climate change. By focusing on our physical and emotional connection to place, Koenning’s ‘photographs offer an intimate view of what it means to live in a fragile environment,’ says curator Pippa Milne. Birds soar in the evening heat while golden tinsel fluoresces in a leafless tree branch; landscapes appear in the contours of the human body and struggling red earth leads the way to a coal mine.
