‘Liveworks Festival of Experimental Art’ returns to Performance Space at Sydney’s Carriageworks, from 18 to 28 October with a stimulating program of conversations, workshops and innovative new works by artists from Australia and the Asia Pacific region; bridging ancient traditions with radical new perspectives, challenging national and cultural boundaries or transcending narrow definitions of gender, sexuality and identity, in a reflection of this year’s overarching theme ‘bodies at the edge’.

Immerse yourself in a sonic wave of 100 plastic keyboards playing in unison, or step into the shoes of a refugee held in detention through the consoles of a video game. Experience a stranger’s embrace, fear the rise of the machine or ‘fembot’, or escape to a visionary matriarchal future inspired by First Nations cultural practices.
