Lucy McRae: Body Architect

Story-telling and speculative science meet in the work of Lucy McRae whose exhibition ‘Body Architect’ prompts us to consider how technology will affect the human body in the future. Works across media and collaborative process are present. ‘Institute of Isolation’, a documentary on the subject of resilience and ‘Future Day Spa’, a vacuum pressure chamber, are hypothetical modes to prepare human subjects for space. In addition, using low-fi materials as props for digital images created with Dutch textile artist Bart Hess, McRae explores physiological transformations.
