Margaret Olley: A Generous Life

Margaret Olley (1923-2011) immersed herself in art, her own as well as those she supported. This retrospective celebrates Olley’s extraordinary life as an artist, mentor, friend, collector and donor, featuring more than 100 paintings and drawings from throughout her career, including her formative years in Brisbane. Olley’s enduring love of nature found expression in exuberant still life works, while her self-portraits and interiors shared colourful compositions and raw, intimate self-reflection. The exhibition includes depictions of Olley by other artists, and works she collected.
