Nathan Taylor is a painter of the landscape of urban Australia, documenting the overflowing bins and worn pavements of suburban streets. Taylor’s landscapes give prominence to carefully designed objects that have been worn through use and then often simply discarded. They re-include these abandoned objects through kind attentiveness and profound devotion.
At some point in the future we will find ourselves explaining to a credulous audience just how we lived our lives and Nathan Taylor’s paintings will help us do that.
