Sydney-based artist Nick Collerson has been awarded the $30,000 MAC yapang Art Prize Acquisitive Award in the inaugural MAC yapang Art Prize. Collerson received the award for his oil on canvas Theoria, 2024, a meditation on the body, knowledge and transformation.
Rewarding slow looking, the work’s painterly intelligence and mythic resonance invites viewers to lose themselves in its alchemical play of form and thought – deliciously absurd, radiant and restless, deeply alive.
