Pulse Perspectives

Human impact on the environment and identity, gender, family and loss are prominent themes and issues explored in the 2020 iteration of this annual showcase of art by Year 12 Visual Arts graduates from participating schools across Western Australia.

Thirty works, ranging from painting and drawing to sculpture, digital moving image and textiles, provide ‘a powerful window into the fears, hopes and concerns of young artists experimenting with practice and responding to creative influences. I am always struck by the incredible courage of these young artists to share intimate stories and honest reflections with such unbridled generosity,’ says Lilly Blue, Manager, AGWA Learning and Creativity Research.
