For 18 years Riley the cow has featured in hundreds of Salmon-Lomas’ etched prints, and has become a central motif and potent character of her work. For this collection, which is part of Fremantle Art Centre’s winter collection: Anarchy, Rock & Ink, viewers will be invited into a darkened gallery and provided with hand-held torches to view the works. It presents the complete works of Riley for the first time, in an evocative series of images.
Salmon-Lomas is a printmaker who teaches Print media at Curtin University. For the past 16 years she has also been deeply involved in Perth’s dance music scene as a DJ and radio presenter at RTRFM – under the name of Rok Riley.
