‘Studio’ is an exhibition of art-signs, word-works and text-art by artist and poet Richard Tipping, who has been making art with words since his first exhibition in 1970. His work explores and extends conversations between text and image, pushing the boundaries of the littoral zones between literary and visual art.
In 2011 Tipping moved into his new Redfern studio from Newcastle, sparked his interest in showing a large collection of his ‘artsigns’ for the first time. The exhibition is comprised of new work as well as examples of his practice from the past thirty years.
