Salvatore Gerardi is an artist who lives and works in Sydney. He has been carefully observing the tide lines around the Northern Beaches that surround his place of residence and his studio. ‘Alluvial Forms’ his current exhibition presents works that represent ‘light transcending through nature’.
“The subject of light is an intrinsic element in my work”, Gerardi says. “It can resonate as an idea in the most intangible and abstract forms. As the symbol of light can surpass nature, my work deals with the dialogue we may have with this metaphor. I document my interpretation of light as it transforms and exceeds nature. For me the illumination of forms, suggest the enlightening or awareness of life forces and existence.”
