2016 SCOPE Galleries Art Award: Art Concerning Environment

The ‘SCOPE Galleries Art Award’ is a biennial award for an artwork that addresses an environmental theme. In its third running the 2016 Award has attracted entries from artists with environmental concerns from across all states in Australia.

The award exhibition comprises 43 artworks pre-selected by guest judge, artist and senior printmaker at Australian Print Workshop, Martin King. The artworks range in media and include; painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, sculpture and glasswork. These works highlight the level of concern that artists feel about environmental issues, and also reveal the importance of art in social and political dialogues that can contribute to change.

Martin King will announce the winner at 6pm on 11 June, 2016 at the gallery in Warrnambool.
