Sean Bailey’s practice is an amalgamation of the abstract, hard-edged, defined and improvised; producing works that use a palette of strong, vibrant colors mixed with grayscale tones. The artist’s canvas is a launching pad to explore a collage of materials such as paper, wood and paint that combine as non-representational forms rooted in nature and the esoteric. This solo exhibition shows his physical range, with work that extends beyond the picture frame, creating a simultaneously obscure and alluring composition.
