Curators Hetti Perkins and Jonathan Jones note that SOUTH EAST celebrates the creative diversity of South-East Australian Aboriginal art, revealing the ‘here and now’ of a region rich in traditional and contemporary artistic expressions. Presented in Gadigal country at Carriageworks on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 October, from 10am to 6pm, SOUTH EAST shines a spotlight on southeastern Aboriginal Australia with work from established artists such as Auntie Esme Timbery and emerging artists from Australia’s Eastern coast, ranging from regional and coastal New South Wales, the ACT to southern Victoria, the Murray basin catchment and Tasmania.
