The ordinary instant

‘The ordinary instant’, an exhibition of more than 50 works by Clarice Beckett, one of Australia’s most significant Tonalist painters (c.1919-1935), includes works from seven contemporary women artists who explore the power of art to make the ordinary extraordinary.

The show features Beckett, Lynne Boyd, Michelle Hamer, Kristin Headlam, Pia Murphy, Saffron Newey, Victoria Reichelt, and Camilla Tadich. Together they present a collection of paintings, ceramics, and textiles that invest notions of beauty, harmony and empathy into the everyday, capturing moments of the ordinary and the present moment.
