Min-Woo Bang’s canvases explore the genre of romantic landscape painting. His latest series, ‘Storm In Paradise’, invites a deeper emotional response and engagement through mysterious and shifting lines of sight.
Bang captures nature’s transitional moods in a suite of breathtaking landscapes, engaging our senses with the emotional and aesthetic qualities of the land and sky that echo human moods. While nature remains his dominant source of inspiration, the artist’s differential viewpoints enhance the audience’s personal encounter with landscape.
With chiaroscuro, Bang creates a dramatic interplay between light and dark as delicately defined branches frame the foreground, directing our attention to shifting clouds or gusts of wind. These landscapes are of no place in particular; rather, they evoke a sense of time passing and memory.
