This curated exhibition features six selected Australian artists whose practice represents paintings and works on paper in an individual and distinct manner. Works by Gabrielle Jones, Alexander Beech, Amy Wright, David Briggs, Oliver Stokes Hughes and Simon Cowell express themes and subject matters that resonate on a personal level but will also connect with a wider audience.
Tortoiseshell Gallery Director Anthony Stokes Hughes said the Gallery will professionally curate exhibitions from selected artists every three weeks and will offer a professional gallery service to featuring artists, art lovers and collectors; “Tortoiseshell Gallery aims to deliver a fresh experience for its clients and customers, while remaining true to our ethos of exhibiting quality artworks by professionally committed contemporary Australian artists working in painting, printmaking and works on paper. Our inaugural exhibition is a demonstration of this and showcases what the Gallery can offer through its commitment to supporting Australian artists and engagement with its community.”
Tortoiseshell Gallery will host its Grand Opening on Sunday 21 August, 2-4pm.
