This exhibition presents new work from twenty-four contemporary Australian and Irish artists, along with art and artefacts from the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery Collection, that engage with Dickensian themes and resonate with Australia’s colonial past – exploitation, crime, abuse, and corruption – with a quirky twist.
Artists include Mary Knights, Raymond Arnold and Rodney Croome, Pat Brassington, Julie Gough, Fiona Hall, Ursula Halpin, Mish Meijers and Tricky Walsh, Ricky Maynard, Milan Milojevic, Effie Pryer, Yhonnie Scarce, Heather B Swann, and Paul Zika, to name a few.
