Leading contemporary art gallery, Utopia Art Sydney celebrates 35 years of art with an exhibition and party, opening 4th February 2–5pm.

The birthday show features artists who have been shown with the gallery since they launched in 1988: Ada Bird Petyarre, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, George Tjungurrayi, John R Walker, Joseph Jurra Tjapaltjarri, Marea Gazzard, Robert Cole, and Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula.

For thirty-five years, the gallery has exhibited Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists in a contemporary context, leading to the emergence of Aboriginal artists like Emily Kame Kngwarreye into the mainstream of Australian art. Utopia Art Sydney represents leading members of Papunya Tula Artists, Gloria Petyarre from Utopia and non-Indigenous artists from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.

Join Utopia Art Sydney at their Waterloo gallery to celebrate this momentous birthday.
