William Kentridge: TRIUMPHS AND LAMENTS and LULU

The ninth solo exhibition by William Kentridge at Annandale Galleries features 40 new graphic media works presented in three thematic sections. In ‘TRIUMPHS AND LAMENTS’, five large multi-panel etchings echo the frieze of procession images in Kentridge’s eponymous 2016 public installation in Rome. Other works draw imagery from the opera ‘Lulu’, which was commissioned by the New York Metropolitan Opera and directed by Kentridge in 2016–17, while the third part is devoted to miscellaneous new works in various media and sizes.
