The nineteenth annual Woodend Winter Arts Festival will deliver a four-day feast of music, words and ideas in the heart of Victoria’s Macedon Ranges from 7 to 10 June 2024.
Over 100 artists will perform. Some highlights of the music program include Southern Spanish guitarist Paco Lara, jazz great Paul Grabowsky, John O’Donnell conducting Ensemble Gombert and Accademia Arcadia performing Bach’s St John Passion, Festival Director Jacqueline Ogeil premieres one of the earliest classical piano concertos, while London-based pianist Piers Lane performs Chopin, Smetana and Mozart.
The Words and Ideas program delivers engaging debates and discussions from some of Australia’s brightest minds, such as Nobel Prize winner Peter Doherty and journalists Gideon Haigh, Elizabeth Finkel, Robyn Williams, Andrew Ford, and Don Watson. Topics range from ‘city vs country’, to ‘machines vs humans’.
