2018 Incinerator Art Award shortlisted artists

The Incinerator Art Award is an award of national significance, inspired by architect Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony, who believed that art and architecture practices are ethical enterprises that should aim to bring about positive social change.

The Incinerator Gallery’s annual award will be presented in an exhibition from 13 October to 25 November 2018, showcasing the works of the 35 shortlisted artists that reflect the theme ‘art for social change’.

The award will be judged by panel of three art and design professionals, highly regarded in the industry, including Max Delaney, Director of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art.

There will be a $10,000 first prize and the $3,000 second prize that will be announced at the exhibition’s opening night on Friday 12 October with the $1,000 People’s Choice Award announced at the exhibition’s conclusion.

Shortlisted artists include: Duha Ali and Justine Youssef, Helen Amanatiadis, Hayley Arjona, Rob Bartolo, Alison Bennett, Izzy Brown, Jazmina Cininas, Shan Crosbie, Adam Douglass, Megan Evans, Sarah Firth, Joseph Griffiths, Amala Groom, Nigel Hewitt, Paul Hodges, Kathy Holowko, Sonia Leber and David Chesworth, Sally Mannall, Jordan Marani, Margaret McIntosh, Asher Milgate, Hayley Millar-Baker, Ilona Nelson, Shane Nicholas, Claudia Phares, Texta Queen, Robbie Rowlands, Mia Salsjö, Nina Sanadze, Tama Sharman-La hole, Amy Spiers, Bethany Wheeler and Paul White.
