Many Hands is a Melbourne-based social enterprise raising awareness of important, everyday issues, supporting local causes and offering the opportunity to do good, simply by creating and buying art.
For their second campaign, entitled ‘Sea Change’, Many Hands will be supporting Fight for the Reef, a World Wildlife Fund campaign that aims to raise awareness of the major threats to the Great Barrier Reef; including industrialisation, global warming and fertiliser run-off.
For centuries the arts have played a major role in creating artefacts that reflect the state of human society and its relationship with nature. Many Hands, is focusing on this delicate relationship by collaborating with a variety of talented artists to support the conservation of the Great Barrier Reef. The talented roster of artists include: Laelie Berzon, Lisa Sorgini, Melissa Findley, Flick Palmateer, Darren Oorloff, Sam Chirnside, Nicola Leslie, Duncan Macfarlane, Andie Leslie, Yasmin Suteja, Maya Crowder and Daisylegs.
Join Many Hands for an evening of art, photography, illustration, music, and drinks for the campaign’s official launch at Allpress Studios, 84 Rupert Street in Collingwood at 7pm, coinciding with a two-week exhibition at The Cutting Table, 126-128 Smith Street, Collingwood from the 18 February to 3 March. Launching during the Sustainable Living Festival, ‘Sea Change’ will not only highlight the profound transformation that has occurred, but also the one that needs to occur.
Artworks will be sold via a quarterly exhibition and for an exclusive time online. Basically, the more artworks sold, the more money raised with Many Hands donating 50% of the profits from each.
