From political and cultural topics; colonisation, globalisation, migration and climate change to historical explorations, science, nature and personal belonging, the ‘Perth Festival’s’ 2018 visual arts program is packed with free and ticketed events at venues across the City of Perth from 9 February to 4 March. Visitors can experience sculpture, photography, film, music, dance, performance and workshops.
Exhibition highlights include: Lisa Reihana’s ‘Emissaries’ at John Curtin Gallery opening 4 February to 22 April, Latai Taumoepeau at Fremantle Arts Centre with ‘Repatriate’ commencing 7 February to 23 March, Zadok Ben-David’s ‘Human Nature’ at Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery from 10 February to 21 April, and Perth Institute of Contemporary Art hosts ‘Zone of Nowhere’ by Kimsooja from 17 February to 25 April and the epic 24-hour performance of ‘The Second Woman’ from 3 to 4 March.
