Tom Polo’s practice encompasses painting and installation exploring notions of conversation, emotional exchange and gesture as embodied acts of portraiture – giving material form to the intangible acts of human exchange.
Featuring restaged existing and new works, including a series developed during a 2024 International Studio & Curatorial Program, New York City residency and a site-specific billboard installation, the exhibition conceptualises the gallery as a stage, structured in four acts. Works blur boundaries here between the self and others, to mask and unveil the complexities of our inner worlds.
