Spanning almost one hundred years and bringing together new and existing works by seventeen Australian and two international artists, The Pool Show takes a deep dive into pool culture in our art and in our psyches.
From iconic imagery by Harold Cazneaux, David Hockney, Ian Fairweather, and Max Dupain to new commissions by Dennis Golding, Katerina Asistin, JD Reforma, and Marian Abboud and the Forked Tongue Storytellers Collective, a rethink of public swimming’s iconography and mythology in the Australian imagination is encouraged, including how changing communities continue to challenge assumptions.
