John Perceval: All That We Are

This marks the first major survey of the artist since 1992, featuring over one hundred works spanning three decades of achievement.

Tracing Perceval’s creative development from the late 1930s, as he shifted from unsettling portrayals of childhood memories and night images painted during World War II to exuberant imagery inspired by the Renaissance masters and later gestural, vibrant land and seascapes – with several paintings from the ‘Williamstown’ series that capture the lively docks, shipyards, and waters of the Melbourne port settlement.
